Wifi
Scenario:
You frequently go to a coffee shop to access the free WiFi on your laptop. A recent news article claims that several patrons of that very same coffee shop have been victims of identity theft. They claim that their information may have been compromised because they connected to an unprotected wireless network with a name very similar to the legitimate one. The name of that fake network is “TrustThisWifi”. You want to check if you have ever connected to this network.
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
“This plist contains data about wireless access points the system has connected to. There may only be a few times where this data is needed, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have it handy. The "LastConnected" key is particularly useful as it contains the timestamp of the last time each wireless point was connected to.”
copy and paste this into the terminal
plutil –p /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
Command + F : SSIDString
Relevant data in this Plist incudes LastConnected, Security Type, and SSID.
